Art Comes to Life on the Asphalt at Via Colori Street Festival November 21-22
MAKE PLANS to attend this free, awesome street festival this weekend — and it’s a fundraiser to boot! Houston Via Colori hits the streets of downtown Houston for the fourth year to raise funds for The Center for Hearing and Speech. Both Saturday and Sunday, November 21-22, more than 200 artists will line the streets of Allen Parkway and Bagby to bring the asphalt to life with landscapes, portraits, animals, and all kinds of self-expression.
In addition to viewing the fabulous street art, Houstonians can enjoy live music from a dozen bands, food samplings, festival-wide scavenger hunt, photography contest, photo booth, Houston ZooMobile, and face painting. For a small $10 contribution, budding artists can create their own “2×2″ artistic street painting in Via Bambini. The Houston Via Colori festival is free to the public Saturday (10 a.m. – 6 p.m.) and Sunday (10 a.m. – 5 p.m.). The festival surrounds Sam Houston Park in downtown Houston, with the festival entrance at corner of McKinney and Bagby. Get more details from the Via Colori site here.
