I received a “breaking news” e-mail from CultureMap about this! Based on the amazing success of Houston Restaurant Week 2010, more than 70 restaurants will extend their special menus through Labor Day, September 6. Houstonians can continue to dine out to fight hunger in Houston.

Here’s how it works… enjoy a 3-course meal at fine Houston restaurants for just $35. A generous $5 of each meal will be donated to the Houston Food Bank. For those who love to indulge over lunch, get a two-course lunch for just $20, with $3 donated to Houston Food Bank. Get your fix for action/adventure movies this week for free! Miller Outdoor Theatre presents the Indiana Jones movie series August 17, 18, and 19 beginning at 8:15 p.m. each night. Adventure movie week kicks off with Indiana Jones and Raiders of the Lost Ark tonight, August 17. The next night features Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom followed by Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade August 19. As usual, blankets and coolers are welcome!

It’s hard to believe this movie debuted in 1981! Wow, time flies…

Bigger, Better Putt Putt Fun House Celebration

We all know things are bigger and better in Texas! Putt Putt Fun House in Webster is creating a special celebration this Saturday, August 14, to spotlight its five new attractions. From 1 p.m. – 4 p.m., guests can enjoy $1 specials on pizza and drinks. Enjoy visits with characters Cinderella, Shrek, Batman, and Yoda. Don’t miss the free Battle Zone play with each admission — as well as the drawing for a Nintendo Wii.

The five new attractions feature Ballcity, Spin Zone Bumper Cars, Lazer Frenzy, Battle Zone, and Mini Bowling. Putt Putt Fun House is located at 806 E. NASA Parkway.
