Free National Memory Screening Day, November 17
EACH YEAR, the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America hosts National Memory Screening Day in November as part of its national awareness month. Folks are encouraged to visit a participating facility in Houston November 17 for a free, confidential memory screening. The process includes questions and tasks to test memory, language skills, thinking ability, and other intellectual functions. More than 2,000 sites across the country will offer similar screenings so spread to word to family/friends outside Houston, too.
Screenings can help those who are concerned about their memory, have experienced warning signs, or have a family history of Alzheimer’s. These screenings are provide a baseline for future memory comparisons for those without warning signs. Check out these great questions here to help determine if you should be screened. In Houston, Silverado Senior Living is providing the free screenings at its three Houston area locations:
