HEARD OF THE MONDAY Mania specials this month at Sam Houston Race Park? Mondays are special for the horse track with free daytime admission each Monday beginning March 8 — March 8, March 15, March 22, and March 29. The gates open at 11:30 a.m. with the first live race beginning at 1:20 p.m. Parking and admission are all free with $1 draft beer specials.

We’ve never been to a horse race. But my husband and I were thinking this would be a fun experience for our fam.(5 & 10yr old boys,& 9yr old daughter. Money is a little tight now so we wanted to take advantage of this offer and expose our children to new fun experiences. My concern is the atmostphere at the racetrack. Can you give me any advice, as to if it is a family oriented eviroment on Mondays. We are out next week for spring break and would like to attend on the 15th.

Hi Mari,
We are a family oriented organization and are often patronized by families with children the same age as yours.
Besides watching the horses race, kids can pet our two miniature donkeys – Chip and Dip, or play video games in the arcade.
Children under 12 get in FREE on ALL live racing days.
