Whenever Houston Juneteenth rolls around, the city pulls out all the stops to celebrate. Whether you’re celebrating it with friends or family, you’re sure to find a fun event to remember.
For a day of fun with friends, join the Juneteenth Bar Crawl. During the event, you’ll get to go around some of the best 3rd Ward hotspots and have a blast with friends or friends to be. I’ve met some great people and formed lasting friendships visiting the area’s bars. If you’re looking to do some shopping, head on over to the BLCK Market’s Annual Juneteenth Market. It’ll be brimming with Black-owned small businesses with tons of interesting goods to offer. Make sure you have plenty of room in your vehicle for all of your finds. I’ve been known to fill up my trunk with purchases at the market.
For families, there will be tons of fun activities to enjoy over at Emancipation Park. There will be a Freedom Walk/ Run to be followed by various performances and concerts. There will also be tons of food vendors to ensure you’re always filled with good food throughout the day. I recommend bring your appetite. The food is great! Don’t worry about packing on extra calories, you can dance them off listening to the musicians.

Juneteenth at Emancipation Park

This Houston Juneteenth event is not one to miss! The fun will start off with the 2nd Annual Freedom Walk/ Run from 7 am to 11 am followed by festivities and concerts starting at 4 pm. Also, expect plenty of good food and tons of great vibes.

Juneteenth Celebration at The Heritage Society
The Heritage Society will be holding its own Juneteenth celebration featuring a performance from The National Convention of Gospel Choirs and Choruses Houston, Juneteenth Freedmen’s Town Bike Riders, a teacake reception, talks from special guest speakers, and more.

City of Beaumont’s Juneteenth Celebration in Downtown Beaumont
