Free Tax Help in Houston 2024

BakerRipley

BakerRipley (formerly Neighborhood Centers Inc.) offers free tax prep by IRS-certified volunteers until April 15th. This service is available to families and individuals earning up to $58,000 and includes free electronic filing. Visit their website to find locations and hours for their eleven tax centers across Houston.

AARP Foundation Tax-Aide

AARP Foundation provides free tax preparation for moderate to low-income families, with a focus on those aged 50 and over. With over 50 locations in Houston and thousands nationwide, you can easily find a Tax-Aide site near you by searching online using your zip code.

Houston Public Library and Harris County Public Library

HCPL is partnering with AARP volunteers to offer free tax assistance until April 15th. Both libraries offer a mix of services for all ages and some are specifically targeted towards seniors and low/moderate-income residents. Check their respective websites for detailed calendars with dates and times at specific branches. While Houston Public Library welcomes all income levels, they offer special attention to those age 60+ with low-to-moderate income. Their services operate on a first-come, first-served basis.
