In what should be great news to any budget-conscious shopper who still wants to eat healthy and fresh foods without falling behind on the mortgage, Houston is finally getting a Whole Foods Market 365. Even better? The new store will include two “Friends of 365” restaurants which will serve all-natural and healthy foods for those on the go.
Houston’s new Whole Foods Market 365 is slated to open sometime later this summer at the intersection of I-610 and Yale St. The store will feature 30,000 square feet of healthy, all-natural foods that won’t break the bank. Once opened, Houston’s Whole Foods 365 will be one of two in Texas following one which opened in Austin last year. Whole Foods 365 will also join the new H-E-B grocery slated to open in the Heights area later this year.
If you’re unfamiliar with Whole Foods 365, you’re in for a great surprise. An offshoot of Whole Foods Market, the 365 stores sell the same high-quality, all-natural foods that Whole Foods is known for, but at much more affordable prices. Whole Foods 365 president Jeff Turnas says the store “celebrates our belief that fresh healthy foods can be readily available to more people in an affordable way every day…365 days a year.” The brand has only been around for a few years, but so far reviews have been overwhelmingly positive.
Houston’s Whole Foods 365 will feature two restaurants: Peli Peli Kitchen and Juice Society. Peli Peli Kitchen is a South African fast-casual eatery serving a wide variety of dishes from around the world including curried chicken, naan tacos, and “South African fajitas.” Juice Society is a juice shop based in Austin which serves a variety of freshly-squeezed cold pressed juices featuring a wide selection of fruits and vegetables.
The addition of Whole Foods 365 will surely be a big plus for the value-conscious household looking to eat all-natural foods on a family-friendly budget.
