Gardening is an outdoor activity enjoyed by many Houstonians. It’s the perfect way to pass time, reduce stress, and build positive thinking. If you are new to gardening or you have experience but aren’t familiar with Houston’s terrain, taking a gardening class is the best way to learn some basic skills.

If you have done any research, you probably found out quickly that many professional courses cost a lot of money. But you don’t have to empty your pockets on expensive sessions that teach the same information you can get for free at Messiah Lutheran Church’s fall gardening classes.

This fall, make a goal to tackle your most difficult gardening tasks. Even if you don’t know the difference between a perennial and an annual, any newbie will be a pro after a few basic gardening lessons.

Messiah Lutheran Church is offering free fall gardening classes September 10-24, 2019 at 11522 Telge Road Cypress, Texas 77429. Each class will feature a one-hour session in the Messiah’s Community Room at 7:00 pm. The schedule includes:

  • September 10 – Planning a Successful Garden
  • September 17 – Soil and Composting
  • September 24 – Plant Selection and Resources

There will also be a free bee pollination class on Saturday, September 21 at 10:00 am taught by Matt Brantley from BZ Honey in the Messiah Fellowship Hall. Join other nature lovers to learn about the importance of bees and how pollination works.
