City of Houston Thanksgiving Day Parade
First things first! The highlight of Thanksgiving week in Houston, the 75th Annual H-E-B Thanksgiving Day Parade is coming your way on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at 9 am! As of now, weather is expected to be GREAT (temperatures in the 70s and rain promising to stay away).
Parade starts on Smith and Lamar, will travel north to Walker, east to Milam, south to Pease, west to Louisiana, north to Clay, west to Smith, and north to end at Smith and Dallas.

Fun Events in Houston during Thanksgiving Week
Apart from the HEB parade, there’s a lot going on in Houston.
Kids can celebrate Thanksgiving at the Woodlands Children’s Museum! Enjoy fun songs, fingerplays, and creative movement including the “Turkey Pokey” and “Turkey Tango.” The Children’s Museum of Houston is hosting a week of fun activities as part of their Great Gobbler Thanksgiving Week
The fun is not limited to kids. Adults and families can participate in a few different Turkey Trots happening across the Houston area.
End the week on a high with a number of Christmas Tree Lighting events including the very popular Official Tree Lighting Event in Galveston happening on Saturday the 30th of November.

Restaurants Open On Thanksgiving Day in Houston
Any discussion of Thanksgiving cannot be complete without talking about Thanksgiving Meals! For those of us that are not keen on taking on the stress of cooking thanksgiving meals, there are plenty of restaurants in Houston that are open on Thanksgiving Day.
We researched over 200 restaurants across the Greater Houston area and came up with a list of 60 that are ready to serve! There are fast food places including Whataburger, Wendys. Then there are also fine dining options such as Brasserie Du Park and Nobu.
