It’s the end of an era. After 38 years, the Rice Village location of Half Price Books will be closing down for good this Sunday, March 8th. And while we’ll still have other locations to get great books on the cheap, like the Montrose store not too far down the road, for many, including myself, the Rice Village branch was the chain’s best location.
Before shutting its doors for good, Half Price Books in Rice Village is holding a massive “Going Out of Business” sale where you can get books for pennies on the dollar.
Here are the details:
- Take 75% off everything until March 6th–That means an additional 75% off whatever the lowest marked price is on the book or item (includes puzzles, music, toys, and everything else in the store that’s available for purchase).
- March 7-8 fill a bag with everything you can squeeze in for just $10–Cram as many books, puzzles, DVDs, or whatever else you want into a bag and pay only $10 for the whole thing!
When our team visited the store on March 4th, there was still a huge selection available and things had not been fully picked through yet. We were able to pick up plenty of books for adults and kids alike, walking out of the store with 3 bags filled to the brim for just over $30 (saving over $90 off their marked prices). It’s a great chance to build out your own library and to also score some cheap gifts for loved ones for any upcoming birthdays or special occasions.
The Rice Village location is no longer buying books from customers, so if you have books you want to sell, you’ll need to visit one of their other locations.
Again, Half Price Books Rice Village’s last day in business will be March 8th, so get down there now to take advantage of this huge sale.
