Discovery Green – Green Mountain Energy Ice
Returning once again for the 2024 holiday season, this pop-up outdoor ice skating rink Houston continues to be one of locals’ favorite ways to celebrate the holidays. The rink will be open until the start of February, and tickets must be purchased ahead for a specific time slot. The rink also has special events like Skating With the Stars and Happy Hour Fridays.

The Ice Rink at The Woodlands Town Center
Another pop-up ice skating rink in Houston that is just in town for the holidays is the Ice Rink at The Woodlands Town Center. This rink offers a state-of-the-art sound system and space for parties. They encourage booking in advance online through their website to ensure availability at your preferred time.
They also have group lessons where you can learn how to get comfortable on the ice with others on the same level as you.
This year, there will also be sensory-friendly skate sessions designed specifically for individuals with sensory sensitivities. These special sessions will feature fewer sensory disruptions, including softer lighting and reduced music volume, ensuring a calm and welcoming environment for all.
