It’s Mardi Gras season throughout America’s Gulf Coast, which means it’s time to do what Texans do best: eat, drink, and be merry! Here in Houston, one of the most highly anticipated Mardi Gras celebrations is rolling into the Kemah Boardwalk for a party sure to be fun for the whole family. If you want to celebrate Mardi Gras in true style, this is the party for you.
Mardi Gras at the Kemah Boardwalk is a family-friendly and completely free event. There will be live music and family fun throughout the day including Mardi Gras beads, stilt walkers, and the Jackson Square Stompers New Orleans Brass Band. At 7:00 pm, the Yachty Gras Boat Parade will travel by the Boardwalk with festive decorative boats and floats that will light up the night sky with multi-colored Mardi Gras displays.
Mardi Gras celebrations at the Kemah Boardwalk begin at noon on Saturday, February 23. The party kicks off with a performance from multi-genre cover band Dead Stereo from 12:00 to 4:00 pm. After that, local favorites Velvet Punch will crank things up from 5:00 to 9:00 pm.
