ABOUT THE MUSEUM OF FINE ARTS HOUSTON
Established in 1900, the Museum of Fine Arts Houston is one of the top 10 largest museums in the U.S. It has seven separate facilities to host all the art and programs.
It’s home to approximately 64,000 pieces of artwork, with over 6,000 years of history and from six continents. It’s also worth noting that the museum is the oldest art museum in Texas.
This incredible, wide-spread museum is home to some of the world’s greatest art. They have paintings, antiques, and sculptures from different cultures.
MFAH also holds exhibitions throughout the year such as:

Advanced time tickets to the Museum of Fine Arts are currently recommended.
General adult price admission to the museum is $24 for adults over 19, and $20 for adults over 65.

- Children 12 and under are free of admission.
- General admission is free if you’re visiting on a Thursday!
- Thursday All Access Passes for 13 years and older is $10
Additional discounts:
- For those with a Lone Star Card and photo ID, you can get in for free.
- Visitors ages 18 or younger are also free of admission when they visit on Saturdays and Sundays with a library card from any public library in Texas.
- Lastly, Bank of America cardholders are exempt from the admission fee.

WHEN IS MFAH OPEN?
The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston is typical open within the following hours:
Wednesday – 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Thursday – 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Friday – 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Saturday – 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Sunday – 12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Note that they are closed on Mondays except during selected holidays. The Museum is now also closed on Tuesdays, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.
