Crystal Clear Lagoon

Located in the Texas City Lago Mar development, Crystal Clear Lagoon covers a span of 12-acres. The Lagoon will open to the public in July for “Summer Lagoonfest.” This exciting event will allow Houston residents to visit the island-like paradise for activities, food trucks, and more fun!

The Lagoon originally opened to residents back in early June. From July 15 until September 13, the public will have access to the lagoon from Wednesdays until Sundays. It will be open from 10 am to 7 pm on those days.

According to a press release, Lagoonfest will feature kayaks, inflatables, sail and paddleboats, food trucks, and much more! Capacity is limited. Tickets will be available for people older than 13 years at $15. Tickets will be $10 for those 13 years and younger. Children under 2 will get in for free.

The president of the Lagoon Development company, Uri Man, has said that COVID-19 measures have been put into place to ensure that overcrowding will not occur. Face masks are necessary to enter the lagoon and need to be worn in all high traffic areas. Staff will be wearing face masks, as well. They will also undergo health screenings. Sanitation procedures are also in place.

“We’ve fast-tracked opening a section of the lagoon for ticketed use to satisfy the immense demand we’ve been seeing since the resident portion opened up in early June. We are making paradise accessible to Houstonians by opening our family-friendly beach life experience to the general public for a limited time,” Man said.

The lagoon holds as much as 24 million gallons of water, which is enough to cover the Houston Galleria. It’s part of a mixed-use entertainment district that is currently under construction. When finished the area will be home to hotels, condos, dining, and retail options.
